"Black and White - painting a sign" is the title of the painter's personal Peppe Occhipinti which will be inaugurated at the "Photo Studio Nino Lombardo," Viale Regione Siciliana, 63, in Trapani, Friday, January 13, 2012 at 19. The exhibition will run until January 27, daily, except Sunday, from 10 to 13 and from 17 to 20. "Black and White - painting a sign" is a tribute to the painting to photography. Proposals are four large works on the black field in which the fund are intertwined in contrast white marks. Side in the layout of the works on display are also preparatory sketches that allow the eye to make a leap in scale in the transition from small to large and vice versa. Still a masterpiece of Italian art on display in Salemi. Wednesday, December 28th at 18.00, in the exhibition spaces of the Museums (which is allocated to the Museum of the Mafia) in Via D'Aguirre, in the historic center, the public will be exposed to the "Portrait of Louis Grazioli" (oil on canvas, 86.5 X 71.5 cm) by Lorenzo Lotto, one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance.
The work will be presented by Vittorio Sgarbi That of Lorenzo Lotto Lotto is the latest masterpiece of Italian art exhibited in Salemi after paintings by Rubens, Caravaggio, Modigliani and Picasso, to name just the most renowned artists. By Bernard Berenson attributed to Lotto in 1955, this portrait, whose property has increased over the years by the Marquess of Sligo (Weestport, Ireland) to that of Senator Loeff (Brazil), now belongs to the collection Cavallini Sgarbi.
